If you have to pull the trigger, is it really archery?

Nice Jay
Looks like we are fighting the same war  ;)

I'm grinding tons of glass this days.
Alot of things to try and learn...
this one is today test whit stone and a piece of bone as pressure flakers
Also starting to worry about the safety of this hobbie.
Not really worried by the millions of blood platelets  :D but that nasty glass powder looks pretty bad. wondering if some kind of mask would be necessary

What do you use as tools?

Fine looking points. I believe there is dust particulates from any glass or rock you work. If your not in a well ventilated area then you are breathing them...
There are no bad knappers, only bad flakes

I always (mostly) knapp outside. Im just using a hammer stone, two different sized copper boppers i made,  and a copper flaker given to me by one of the guys at my archery club. At tye shoots there is just us three drinkin beer and crushin gravel. Ive been having a bad time thinning the nitching side, think next time ill try working frome base to tip rather than tip to base. See what that does. I wanna go get kore basalt but apatently you dont go up to that area i know of without four spair tires xD

Nice point   If you can't knap where the wind blows the
dust/gas away from your face, try a fan. I always try to wear
glasses or goggles. Those particals gan be pretty bad for
your eyes and lungs.
