Hey Glen, good to see your post. That is a fine looking necklace. Bet I see that at a knap-in some day. I also bet those are bear claws. Nice way to honor a fine bear.

SWEETTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT  ;)

  I've made trade points for 15 years 15 years zwicky before that.

  But I started knapping and hunting with stone heads 23 years ago when I started building selfbows. To knap
 one and kill with it.  And I've killed 7 deer 4 gobblers,unteen ground hogs and rabbits,with glass, texas chert and osiden. You've joined a small croud.

  Not many get to your point.  No matter how long I go useing trade points. Every so often I just have to let some stone fly.

Thank you sir. There is nothing that can top putting food on the table with tackle you have worked hard to lesrn and manufacture. 47 years of fair chase skills now it's all about the Ultimate Challenge

You all may have seen these photos before.
The guy that supposedly went after this bear
with a bow was ate. The guy in the picture used
a gun .338 I think. Kinda contraversial.

I remember seeing  that story. I've got a video on VHS of a estimated 1400 brownie taken by recurve. The guide / pilot shot the video. And was deadacated to him as he died the next year crashing his bush plane.

I don't think I would chance it alone with a bow. ::)
Now with a gun back-up maybe. Because if I didn't kill the bear
I could run.  >:DThe gun guy would be on his own and if he didn't
stop the big bear, oh well the bear would most likley stop to eat
him and I'd be long gone..  :o >:D

  I'm thinking more like 25 feet up with a hand full of arrows.
