I don't know. I think those tips might cause some hand shock. I think you could file 'em down some more.  ;)

Now that the Classic is over, I've been able to catch up on this thread.  Holy guacamole, guys!  Some beautiful stuff being created by some of the finest bowyers in the country.  Fortunately for me, I finished tillering my trade bow at the Classic.  I shot the bow at The Classic in the Selfbow Challenge to break it in.  It is an osage bow with some real color character throughout.  My recipient's stats were a bit of a challenge and had me a bit worried, but it came off without a hitch.  Now to sanding, finishing and dolling it up.  I'll post pics when it is finished.

I am loving seeing all these beautiful bows and watching them find their new owners.

Simson, if I were the lucky one, I would pick the first of the two. Those sweeping curves along with that finish work get my vote.

Weylin, sounds like you are letting those calipers muddy up your intuition ;)

I got a solid week of bowmaking in and got pretty well caught up on work. The workbench is cleared for the trade bow now.   :)

the mono chord, the initial rune of fine art
The humanities grew out from archery as a flower from a seed
No sooner did the soft, sweet note of the bow-string charm the ear of genius than music was born, and from music came poetry and painting and..." Maurice Thompso

This time, the calipers and my intuition agree. It's the tiller at brace that's messing with me.

I'm getting back to work on my trade bow.  I need to thin down one more tip and then sand and seal it. I cleaned out the knots in the back.  The lead shot is visible in one of them. I soaked them in superglue.  I'm hoping to have it ready to ship out in a few weeks.

This one has the lead shot in it.

That bow can only become prettier as it ages. Great piece of wood to make a gift from.
Only when the last tree has died and the last river has been poisoned and the last fish has been caught will we realize we cannot eat money.

Thanks.  That stave was cut some time in the early 1990's.  I think I might go with low gloss tongue oil for the finish.

Greg AKA badly bent and I met up at a local range yesterday to do some shooting. He shot my trade bow a bunch and I got the stamp of approval. I was second-guessing myself too much and just needed a second opinion. Just gotta put the skins and a handle on and it'll be out the door. So whoever gets it if you don't like it you can blame Greg 8)
