Hawkeye Bowmen's 13th Annual Spring Thaw (The Primitive Shoot)

Hawkeye Bowmen is located in Marilla NY on rte:354 (13300 Clinton Street). Look for the Hawkeye Sign at the road as you can not see the Club from the road. The Shoot starts on Friday Aprill 22 at noon and runs through Sunday April 24 at noon. There is plenty of room to pitch a tent. We will not have Camper hookups for this Shoot. There is city water in our heated clubhouse along with flush toilets. We will have some firewood cut up for Shooters to use. If you are just going for one day, Saturday would be your best bet as there is more going on that day. This Shoot is a small event (about 20 targets) and normally attracts 40 to 60 shooters. The Shoot is for Selfbows only (no laminated bows for this one except for kids who may shoot any kind of bow). We hold some events during the weekend if you are interested You must shoot selfnock arrows at the Events. If you just want to shoot the courses you can shoot any type of arrow. We do not have a kitchen for this Shoot. If you are looking for a big event with all the bells and whistles this one is probably not for you. However if you are looking for a small laid back Shoot where you can shoot / meet other like minded Primitive Archers/ and share knowledge of Primitive Archery and related skills, the Hawkeye Spring Thaw may be of interest.

Hawkeye President Phil Fleck donated one of his candle lanterns and Hawkeye Kitchen Chair Rob Marcotte donated one of his fire pistons for this year's prize table for our Guests. We have the courses all set up and a big pile of firewood cut. Also We are making plans to hold a unique little event for Hawkeye Members attending the Spring Thaw Shoot. Even if you are not a Hawkeye Member it should be fun to watch and cheer on your favorite Hawkeye Member. Details of the Members event to be announced. Hope to see some of the folks from this Primitive Archer board at the Shoot.

Beautiful pictures, should be some cold fun for sure, some day hope to make this one. Cool prizes also, someone will be very happy with them. :)
