Poplar Quiver today
nclonghunter:
Got a chance to get out for a couple hours and decided to give a woven quiver a try. Cut some small saplings and split them along the length. Cut a poplar tree about 3 inches round and stripped bark. Used the bark to tie the splits together at the bottom, then began weaving the bark to make a quiver. The top or stopping point was the hardest to make neat but it was my first. Needs to dry for a while now.

Well that's cool! Gonna put some fur or moss in the bottom?
derrick morgan:
nice work!
nclonghunter:
Thanks, I plan on putting moss in the bottom when using hunting points. Also plan on a braintan strap. I made the quiver to be very rustic looking and I think I accomplished that..it is surprisingly light weight also and will get lighter as it drys. Only took about an hour and half to make.
Didn,t mention it above but I am using the small poplar tree to make a spear, so I am using almot all the sapling.
