I see no problem with growing it, I use it all the time bought at Wally world, great cordage. :)

 I used it for my last two projects plus a couple more.
I have come to like it a lot.
I guess as they lessen the pot laws hemp should be ok.
Don't know how home grown will be able to compete with
the already established asian market.
The upper Potomac Valley west of me has lots growing wild.
