Weaving materials

I'm trying to find information about using pendulous sedge (carex pendula) leaves as a weaving material, but can't find much. I had a quick play with some today and it seems promising though, and I've got access to mounds of the stuff. Does anyone have any experience or opinions please?

I don't but I'd try it fresh and dry some and try it later. Is it thin leaves? You can make a coil type basket but will need another type to bind it together.  Or reverse twist it into cordage and us that as a weaver in a regular basket quiver.

out here we use carex barbarae and others for baskets. the roots are used not the leaves. leaves were used to make worm carriers for fishing.

Thank you both - it has thick leaves helpfully pre-folded down the middle. I'll have a play and put some pictures up if it works out.
