Elm Hall elm bows - who's building?
Badly Bent:
I have a couple of late breaking developments to report.
The first bow I made and labeled as 47.5# is actually only 32# @ 26 so I guess we have another lighter draw for a lady, teen or man who likes a lower draw weight. Not sure how that happened but I strung it up today after it sitting around for months and noticed it didn't feel as heavy as I had it labeled. :o a mystery to me but I put it in the scale and 32# it is.
I finished another one though from the other half of the same elm tree and it came in at 40# @ 26" so I'll have two bows for the raffle table.
Leaving in the morning, see you folks soon.
Will miss seeing you there Cody, we'll have to get together soon at home.
nakedfeet:
I almost forgot to get some shots of mine before I put it up on the table, but I was able to quickly snap a few.
About as simple as they come, but that's the way I do 'em.
Ended up about 68" nock-to-nock and 35#@28", holding a touch of mild reflex still, mostly at the tips. About 4 inches taller than the sweet old lady that's going to be shooting it, who was super excited about it. Wish I could have taken more time on it, but knowing she's happy with it is all I need to know. Only the third bow of mine to make it into someone else's hands. I hope she really enjoys it.
Danzn Bar:
