First time hunting!?

(1/4) > >>

Knotty:
Hello fellow Bowyers and Archers,
I'd like to ask a few questions about hunting..
I was invited by my uncle some time ago to go out hunting in the woods with him,
And time's shortening, and soon (in about a week or so) I will have my first hunting experience.
We will be hunting in family property,
And these are the animals we have easy access to:

Tatú (Armadillo and Giant Armadillo)
Paca (Cuniculus paca)
Cutia (Dasyprocta species)
Onça (Jaguar)
Capivara (Hydrochoerus hydrochaeris)
Jacu (Penelope)

I was wondering if anybody has ever had any experience hunting these types of animals (or similar),
And if you could share some of your tips and tricks for when the time arrives!

I will be shooting traditional archery equipment (Might even make a quick heavy weight survival bow with the heavy amount of wood available there)
I don't think my Uncle will.. But I'll try to convince him!

Will definitely keep everyone updated once I get something done !

Thanks in advance!

BowEd:
Look forward to hearing about it.Take some pics too.

Knotty:
@Beadman you can count on it!

I really hope to get myself a trophy in the pictures aswell 😊

Knotty:
Still looking for tips and advices! Feel free to post and/or wish me luck!

Well for one, the Jaguar will eat you. I've killed armadillos with stone points, but it's a waste of points when you can do the same with a stick or baseball bat.

My advice is if you have no experience hunting you should follow your uncle's lead and learn from him. Probably the most valuable learning experience you can get.

It doesn't matter if you are hunting with gun,( I know they are there, saw them), sticks, sling shots or bows. You need to learn how to hunt, first.
