First time hunting!?

Yep knotty that's a groundhog on streoids that capivara.Only seen them on TV,but a 45 to 55 pound self bow with a 600 grain dogwood will kill em.Personally I'd save the rawhide off of him besides eating him.They say rodent rawhide is the best for strings etc.

Yeah I thought about it aswell, will be saving the hide of Paca's too.. I think it'd make a nice bow backing since it's all brown and has white spots (just for decoration such as snake skins).

We'll see what I can come up with..

The number 1 thing Knotty don't forget to have fun. Don't pressure yourself to much enjoy the hunt, and time with your uncle. Some of the best hunts you will never shoot your weapon.

I totally understand and agree with your point of view.
However here in Brazil most people don't really care about staying in the woods and enjoying the moment,
Many families, mostly in the northern part, are very poor and have no money to buy themselves meat , so a good day is only when you come back to fill the freezer 😂.

And of course, I'm a lover of staying out in the woods and I'm not too worried about the NEED of catching something , if you know what I mean.. I just want to spend some good time out with my Uncle and that's all that counts to me .
