Think I'm getting the hang of this

When I was at Marshall my cousin and I bought a 50 lb piece of Mahogany Obsidian. Frank spalled a few bags full for us and I watched. My buddies wanted to see how you get something from that big chunk so I decided to give it a try. I didn't get pictures of the spall but it came from end of chunk where I'm holding this point. Was a decent ridge to follow and got huge spall off (the whole end came off in one piece super smooth and clean). I removed several nice smaller spalls from the huge spall till I got it to where I had a nice preform. Then I got out my bopper and made this point. Just used a little pressure flaking to touch it up. I'm thinking I'm getting the hang of this but usally that's when I screw up. lol.

Yeah, I'd say you're getting the hang of it. Superb work there. Good you didn't take a picture of the spall. The Great Spirit of the Rock doesn't like that and will cause you to destroy the piece almost every time.

Thanks Kieth come to think of it every time I take before and after pictures I usally end up deleting both.
