LOL I started with vacume tubes and descrete components.
ended with FET's,Op amps and ferrel resonant transformers.
Throw in solid state square wave generators and 40,000vdc
regulated for lazers.

Yeah, I miss the old stuff, I used to enjoy seeing what I could get out of a handful of transistors Rs and Cs.
Years ago I made a weird headphone amplifier to work on a strange submarine intercom system which operated at a fairly low voltage yet needed a high output swing. A few years later after I'd left that company I had a new guy contact me asking how the heck it worked as he had some back for repair!!!

A year from this coming Saturday for me is my plan, can't wait, at least I think I can't wait. I have lots of stuff to do that I really enjoy, just wonder if I enjoy them so much because I have to fit them in and when it gets to where I can do them all the time if I will enjoy them as much, :-\ hope so.  :)

Congrats Del, now that you are a 'gentleman of leisure', you'll find out pretty quickly that you're busier that you were when you were gainfully employed. I know that's the way it seems to turn out.

That happened to me too, but then I realized I was drinking coffee until 9:00, taking two hours for lunch, taking an afternoon nap and then knocking off early.

Get right to the retirement "work". Don't hesitate or delay.
If ya thought that your working years went fast, retirement years are 10x more so!
Congrats, Mr Del!

Good luck on your new journey. I had to retire because of disability. Hope you can fill your days with great times.

Like Pappy, I'm getting closer (2 years) and really looking forward to it.
