Osage and water moccasin
« on: September 16, 2016, 10:11:12 pm »
I just finished this osage bow. I made it for a trade blanket at the ITBA shoot in Scottsburg, IN this weekend. It's 68 " long and 45 lbs @ 28 ". It's backed with one large water moccasin skin split down the middle. The stave was cut in the early 90's.

I had to get some help on the full draw.

I started out with nothin' and I still got most of it left

That is really nice, Clint. I'm really liking Moccasin skins, more.

Ya should get something quite nice in trade!

Excellent bow Clint, love the profiles. Also I'm digging the baseball stitch on that grip. Let us know what you get through the trade.

Nice bow Osage, it's a bugger making those longer draws isn't it. Its hard to get the feel of it with someone else doing the draw. Looks like a winner, but my draw is 25" although I'm sure I know a lot of people who would want it.
PS I can get lots of goose feathers for trade. Just kidding worth way more than that.

Very nice Clint.  Moccasin skins look great.  Looks like they brighten up on top of the yellow wood.  Bend and finish look really nice as well.
