what would you do?

Hi Guys,

here is my heavy longbow project: holly, 67" ntn, horn nocks  (haven't cut string grooves yet), 2" natural deflex and a left/right curve in one limb.  If I lean really hard on the straight limb it deflects about 1/4", the other limb barely moves at all.  String all lines up, so would you straighten it some more or leave it?

FilipT:
What draw weight do you want at what draw length? Why did you make it "short" if you want warbow? What is the cross section at the handle, looks fairly big for bow this size?

FilipT:
I am interested how this will turn out, I also want to make this shorter kind of warbow. That is why I asked you those questions.

mikekeswick:
Leave it until you brace it, only then will you get a true indication where the string will lie. I'd go with a flattish belly with holly too.

stuckinthemud:
Hi Stalker, its this length because I had to pike 6" off the one end as it had a complex of 3 knots and a bad twist.  Draw weight will be what the stave gives me but I would like more than 70#.

Thanks Mike, I'll take it to brace and see what happens
