Stockpiling lead and casting

(1/1)

Eric Krewson:
I bought a cast iron pot at a flea market to melt lead in, most of my lead is rifle range recovery lead from a range that only has BP shooters.

My pot is also my ingot mold and will make a 15 pound ingot when 3/4 full. There is 106 lbs shown in the picture.

My ingots fit right back in the pot when it is time to cast more bullets.

mullet:
I do the same with a small cast iron skillet.

Stoker:
Nice stock pile.. Keep you in round balls for awhile
Thanks Leroy

Hawkdancer:
I would recommend a smaller ingot mold - remelts the lead faster, IMO   Also easier to pick up a light ingot :).   I would like to find a somewhat bigger pot though.  Cast more RB without refilling the pot!  Have fun casting
