Knot!

Think I might try to make a bow out of this stave.

Not so much looking for instruction on how to proceed (although advice is always welcome) rather than I thought it might be fun to see some of the most extreme examples of bows folks have successfully made despite huge knots like this one. Perhaps someone has such an example?   :)

Have you drilled out that hole?
Where is it located?
If at handle, make a stiff handled bow and no problem.
If somewhere on the bending part, Be careful tiller slowly to final shape, maybe it's necessary to leave it a bit stiffer than the portions of the limb.
