I was helping my brother in law clean up a piece of river property that he owns. It belonged to his grandfather who passed away years ago. He recently had the old house and sheds torn down. He needed some help throwing away a few large items left behind. I saw something in the construction dumpster that caught my eye. It was a large leaf spring. I've been looking for one of these for a while. I want to use it for knife forging. It's 4' long, 3" wide, and each piece is nearly 1/2" thick at center. Finding this old chunk of steel made my night. There's a lot of knives in there.

Great find Clint! You should have enough steel there for quite a bit of forging time.

Can't wait to see what they are transformed into Clint.

Maybe even a sword? ;D
Hawkdancer:
There's at least one ready made froe there, just cut it to size and put an edge on it! The price is right!
