I always go to the thrift shop that is next to the pizza place that I go to for lunch, I ate pizza today so I dropped by the shop. I am always looking for wool items to use as layers under my other clothes for those extra cold hunting days. This was my score today, a lined Cashmere wool coat for $6, just my size. I found it in the woman's section but it doesn't smell like perfume so I am sure it is a mans coat.
The last two other things I bought recently were woman's clothing, getting all of the perfume smell out of them is almost impossible. Even after multiple washings and hanging them outside for days they still have a slight hint of perfume in them.
Pat B:
That's a nice jacket, Eric. I'm always looking for wool over shirts like the old red check Woolrich stuff.
Eric Krewson:
After hanging in my laundry room for a few days I can smell a bit of perfume in the coat so it is a woman's, I will take it to a drycleaner to make sure it is clean from the last owner, the solvents should get rid of any perfume.
I always wash all of my wool in the washer with Woolite but know from experience that soap and water won't wash out the perfume oils that have permeated this wool.
WhistlingBadger:
I guess if deer like the scent of Chanel #5, you're all set.
