Asian style target arrows

(1/5) > >>

Aaron H:
This is my latest set that I made for a trade for a fellow PA member.  I tried my best to make what I thought looked like a traditional Asian arrow. They are big box store bamboo stakes since I couldn't find anything else in the length I needed.

36" long!!!  (Manchu style shooting w/ thumb ring)
Spined at 60-65#
All weigh between 570 - 620 grains
125 grain points
Turkey primaries
Self nocks
Wrapped with deer sinew.
Banana shaped fletching

I couldn't tell you how many times I had to straighten these shafts, but they just kept wanting to return to their original shape. Finally I got them straight enough to where I was happy with them.
This is also the first time I was able to use my new homemade feather burner.  It works so much better than cutting with scissors, but my goodness does it stink!

Urufu_Shinjiro:
Very nice!

selfbow joe:
Very nice looking arrows

Aaron H:
Thanks urufu, thanks Joe

loon:
Nice work! I have heat straightened raw tonkin, so I empathize with the feeling... it's difficult

You shoot with a manchu style thumb ring?
