Nice point, I have found out from shooting my points that anything over 1" wide you don't get the penetration you would from steel..3/4"-1" is about the best..length doesn't make much difference but I wouldn't make them much more than 2' long just for breakage factor..

Thanks Rob, I sure hope so. I'd love for my buddy to get one. He has some pretty good hunting grounds and I think he understands how to hunt with this equipment pretty good. Of course that doesn't guarantee anything.
Blitzkrieg721 I agree completely. I normally don't make mine quite this long. That's why I held it up to my grizzly single bevel for a comparison. I think it's ok but I normally make them a little shorter. Michigan has to be at least 7/8" wide and like you said, I also don't like any over 1".
