Bronce age shoes
swamp yeti:
Man those are some nice hide slippers.
Lee Slikkers:
I agree, those "shoes" look extremely nice and would be a nice pattern for early/late Fall deer stalks. I will have to have a go at making me (and my two young boys, 11 & 8) a pair. Might have to add a little layer or thin lines of "shoe goop" to the soles to keep from slipping on my rear but other than that they look perfect.
Thanks for the pic!
david w.:
These seem awesome for sneaking around the woods in the summer.
animus_divinus:
this style of shoe actually dates much further back than the bronze age... and mesolithic examples of shoes like this have been found.. also, has anyone noticed how similar to the scottish ghilly shoe these appear to be?

I'm sure they weren't too warm, but it was found near a glacier... :)
Here are two small articles in norwegian on the find. At least there are some interesting pictures:

And now if I only spoke Norwegian. :)
Very nice shoes and circa 3400 years ago to boot!
I'm going to bookmark the pattern in this thread for future reference.
Cool.
