I think i have a problem?

Orebear:
Hello all,
Im fairly new to primitive archery (6 or so months) but not new to archery. When im shooting it seems to be fairly easy to get dialed in and get decent groups at 20 yards ( at least for me) of about 6 inches. Im thrilled with my grouping and excited for hunting. Almost any arrow will hit where i want it but i can never get bare shafts to tune. As soon as i just say forget it and fletch an arrow it will hit its mark just not always with perfect flight. Ive tried multiple tip weights arrow spines and lengths. The only reason i think i have a problem is the lack of bareshaft flight and some noise from arrows hitting the strike plate (sometimes but not all). Maybe a release issue? Or am i just over thinking things? Should i not worry abojt bareshaft flight for now and just be happy with good fletched groups?
Thanks for any input in advance.

Bare shaft tuning is to get your arrows to fly well. If you're hitting where you look, sounds like your arrows are flying well already. I've shot for over 30 years and never bare shaft tune arrows.

yes overthinking a bit,,
sounds like you need just a bit more work on your release and hold on the bow,,
self bows can be a bit sensative to your form,,
tell me what your weight and draw is,, and I can tell you an arrow that should work for you,, sometimes wood bows do not go by a chart,, (-S

if you are getting perfect flight on some shots,, that tells you that the bow can do that,, its up to you to repeat that,, :)

Orebear:
The bow is 55lb at 27in. Im pulling right at or just under 26.

aaron:
how wide is the handle? are you shooting wood arrows?
