2017 ARROW SWAP - SHOW N' TELL
DC:
Very cool!
Dakota Kid:
I'm glad you like it. It was fun to make. I just realized I forgot to send my standard description letter with the arrow. Pretty sure I forgot to sign it as well. I've been working too hard and sleeping too little.
The shaft is a garden stake tonken bamboo. The wood fore shafts are ash and the bird/fish point is more tonken. The cresting is hand painted oil enamel. It has a simple self nock and turkey wing fletchings one of which is dyed with food coloring/ hot vinegar.
The blunt you mistook for a tooth is actually the end of a yearling deer's leg bone (fibula or tibia). They work perfectly if you can find one small enough.
The war point is texas chert and the hunting point is keokuk I think. If it's not, it's flint ridge.
I had made an incendiary fore shaft but realized shipping it would require extra hassle and cash. So sadly I decided to omit it.
Once again, I'm glad you like it.
