Borax for feathers?
jeffp51:
When you use borax to kill the little bugs that eat feathers, do you just put some in the bag you store feathers in, or do you mix a solution and wash the feathers? I just noticed some of my wild turkey feathers are being nibbled on. I had put them in the freezer when I got them, but it looks like that didn't get the eggs or something.

I have a tub with a wire rack about an inch off the bottom. I put a good layer of borax powder on the bottom. I keep feathers, skins, rawhide, and some furs in there. I've never had any bug damage.

I put mine in a bag and put some borax in it. Then I kinda shake it up a little.

Pat B:
Borax not only repels insects but also kills them.
Hawkdancer:
Got mine in a bag with mothballs out in the shed. Don't like the mothball smell at all. Going to borax for the next batch. Putting it on the commissary list for Sat. Maybe spread the mothballs around the shed to get rid of creepy crawlies! >:D.
