Yes Dave. That's from my first trip to the Primitive Archer meet at Marshall Michigan. I bought it from Frank one of the vendors there. He's a pretty good guy and being a farmer myself it's hard to believe I spent good $$ on a rock but I'm glad I did. Great place to get some supplies I can't find at home.

For years I have thought it " might " be Mahogany Obsidian..... It looks just like your rock.
So, Now I am even more convinced.
We are no longer farmers. The Land is still owned by family. About half is leased out to hay cutters and cattle grazers.

Dave I'd have to hit it if it was me. I'm always picking up rock and giving it a wack. I find some knapable stuff here but most is either very low grade or freeze cracked or both.
