tapered arrows-how much taper
(1/1)
DC:
I harvested some bamboo shoots(Fargesia scabrida) that I have been growing for a couple of years. So far they look real good as far as weight and spine, between 350 and 400 grains and 45-70# spine. A few of them have quite a lot of taper from 3/8" to a bit less than 5/16". Is there such a thing as too much taper? What problems might it cause?
Knoll:
My [limited] experience has been that if spine/weight and bareshaft test is ok, no problem re diameter.
TSA:
taper effects the dynamic spine and the foc of the shaft- but should make no difference to shooting, as the shafts should not touch the riser again after release ( bar the first 2" or so right behind the point) if they are tuned right! :)
merry christmas brother!!
