Black Palm bark removal
« on: April 10, 2018, 07:04:18 am »
So unlike my preferred wood choice of guava, black palm, as I’ve noticed grows like a weed around here. Anywhere you go, you’re bound to find some. Now my question is, how the heck do I get the bark of these things? I’ve messed with a cut piece before out of curiosity and it seems that gray membrane over the black wood won’t cone of that easily, I can’t really peel it as it’s basically paper. Should I just leave it on?

Hi Ryan

To remove rests of bark I recently tested a kind of nylon-brush like this:

https://www.amazon.de/Connex-COM219100-F%C3%A4cherb%C3%BCrste-100-Nylon/dp/B00CFY0GLW?SubscriptionId=AKIAJT3JJ7URPWOXZSNA&tag=hulbee-21&linkCode=xm2&camp=2025&creative=165953&creativeASIN=B00CFY0GLW

Used with a electric drill it removes the bark but leaves the wood...

Cheers
