Lookin for a rock source

bowmo:
Yea for many years in my early 20's all I knapped was glass and the rock I got from the dump piles at knap ins. All I could make was small points at the time anyway and it kept me knapping for years on free material.

But novaculite is easily one of the best learning materials you could ask for. Chips almost as easy as glass but much stronger. It's sold at every knap in and all over the web.

Zuma:
Novaculite comes from S E Arkansas. Fun and beautiful to knap. :KN :KN

lol...i have a debitage pile to pick through...anybody close to me is more than welcome..probally a couple hundred pounds of every material you can think of..

Chippintuff:
In my experience, some novaculite has been fantastic, but some has been prone to step. I think the prettiest of it is the spider web.

Zuma:
Most all Novaculite likes some heat. I have a lot of abo
stuff that wasn't treated and it's pretty rough.  (=) (=) :KN
