Rainy nights good for knapping

Nice point!  Good rain, too!  We got 2" here finally!  Locally, we are ahead of the drought curve - for a while.  Got a bunch of snow up higher to help out.
Eddie, I need to pick your brain about older Bear bows, fg bows and turkey calls - will send a pm.

Thanks Jerry
Thanks Eddie, maybe I've been misinformed. This is shinny black and flakes easily. I'm quite sure it's not as hard as most of the Obsidian I've ever worked. It's noticeably lighter in weight to. I've gotten this same material from three different sources. The reason I believe it's dacite is because when I first got some it was from my brother and he got it online from knapping supply company and that's what they called it. I got some from Frank at Marshall and he called it "stays wet" because it looks so shinny wet. Of course that means nothing as to its real ID. I think this is actually a piece that jeb gifted me.

Zuma:
BJ as we say when fishin You caught it, you can name it. )F(
Actually it looks a lot like my Mexican Green. :KN
It would make a nice atatl point. Like the Aztecs used.

Thanks bowmo. Still have a lot to learn yet but at least I can make something that's thin, fairly sharp and pointy.

Thanks Zuma. I'm actually thinking I might make another atlatl and dart. I kinda miss my old one
