Peacock fletched arrows

Very nicely made arrows DC.I used to raise those peacocks years and years ago.Too bad the tail feathers won't work as they molt every year in the fall.Nice natural colors to them.

Yeah, I really like the brown that the peacock wings have. I found them really tough to split though. The knife wanted to wander instead of just splitting the quill. I had to go really slow cause I just had enough to fletch four arrows. I may have been me, I haven't done any feather splitting for quite a while.

Did you grind the quills? I found they were easier to grind than turkey feathers. The quill seemed softer.

Yes I did but I really didn't notice a difference.

Cool! Been wanting to try them. How's their stiffness compared to turkey primaries?
