Fresh cut, sloppy wet osage stave.  Preferably something fairly straight, no knots, and with bark and sapwood still attached.

I want to track moisture loss/drying time when I push it as fast as I can without checking.  Yeah, gonna test my own theories about how fast one can dry a piece of osage in stave form.

Anyone fixin' to drop a tree in the heat?

I got a craving for chainsaw exhaust today.  It's been a few months for me.  I thought about cutting a downed tree my next day off but then I thought about the heat and all the bug bites I would get.  Sorry.  I can't help you out.  If you haven't found anything by late September let me know.

Somebody at MOJAM may have one, but they would probably have to wrap it in Saran Wrap to keep it fresh enough to test!  Getting it to you could be a challenge!  On the other hand, I'm going to be there!
