Thanks for the welcome... and yes, I'll share anything you'd like to know.

I use natural, hand-dyed hemp cord that is soaked in marine grade epoxy. Traditionally, it would have been sealed in lacquer or shellac. Modern epoxy is just one of those things you adopt because it works and doesn't ruin the look.

The backing material is either thick leather or wood, contoured and stained. Any bone or antler material is filled with thinned out epoxy to seal and strengthen pithy cores and whatnot.

These are all users... though, it would be safe to say the "pretty" ones don't see much use... breaks my heart.
