Compression fracture on the back (now with pics)

So i was heat treating the belly of a stave of NZ beech because it has v bad compression resistance. And then for some unknown reason (i can get a tad impulsive at times, i was saying "dont do it, dont do it, dont do it" to myself over and over and then lo and behold it was done) i decided i should reflex the tips a little in my newly made caul. . . In the process i managed to get a chrysal on the back of the bow at the start of the bend which goes maybe a 3rd of the way accross the back. . . Bloody fool i know.

So what should i do.

A: tiller it out ignoring the chrysal and see how it goes?
B: sinew or some other patch in that area?
C: firewood?

haha sorry team I had pics on the way, quite hard to get photos to show on the very white wood but here we go. . .

this shows where in limb the chrysal is:

the back is decrowned and about 1 3/4" wide at the chrysal point. limb design is 2" to midlimb, strait taper to 1/2" nocks. ttt is about 65" and will have a slight bend in the handle.

Looks like you forced it. 
I usually don't do any reflexing until I am done long string tillering.
That way the wood is thin enough.
I am not sure why you left the tips so thick.
But anyway...  it is toast.

Save the good limb and handle. You may be able to splice another limb on it at a later date...or make an atlatl out of either limb.

Yeah i must definitly have forced it George, the other side bent just fine though. Tips are still thick cause it is just at floor tiller, i seem to thin them out later in the process.

Yeah thanks Pat, cutty cutty to stop me from just going for it anyway haha
