here ya go,
this has been a working knife since I made the sheath .
I added the orange para cord so I don't loose the knife as easily.

Beautiful work Kevin, got to love that. So the clay goes on the sharp edge or on back down ?  I have seen it done on TV but didn't pay much attention.

from the back down about 2/3 the blade height.

clay thickness and temperature and type of quenchant can yield some interesting patterns.

Thanks, I think I got it, put the clay on before you heat it up, correct, I have just been getting them non magnetic and the quench in oil, it's pretty hard so then in the oven at 450 for a few hours and let cool, seems to do a pretty good job but I am sure not very precise.  ;) Thanks for your help, I am just starting and have a lot to learn, Right now just doing it in the fire with a blower I have set up. Need a forge and plan on that soon.
