Hawk to me power carving is not an option ,its a mind thing i guess but i feel like im not doing the work.kinda like shooting a release aid .
bj im on full time oxygen now and my strength is just not there anymore.

Your art is really good!  Hope you get better.  We could debate the method, but what the mind is able to transfer to the medium is the art.  Lots of philosophy involved in the  dilemma!

Once a hand-carver always a hand-carver, power carving tools have a totally different vibe (literally), so, I concur regarding switching to rotary power carving, and when my time comes I too would rather put away my gouges than switch to power, 'though I believe the Inuit had a saying , which goes 'when your teeth are gone, learn to like mush...' :-)

Do your comments mean the crappie is totally knife carved?
