Those nodes are quite crowded.   Is this stuff from Bamboo World?
 
  You could probably order a bundle of slats from a place in Toronto and do a bit better.  You'd pay freight but not all that customs and phytosanitary extra.

Yes Bamboo World. It will be a while before I need more unless this is no good. I don't reduce the nodes at all. What is wrong with having them to close? Unfortunately there is no way to check for that ahead of time. I paid $123 Can for taxes, freight and all.
