Mesophilic:
Finished one up today.  Steel is 52100 heat treated by Peters to 59-60HRC.  Handle is stabilized maple burl (with a touch of spalting) and rosewood, with G10 liners.

The sheath is made from regular cow leather with a panel of lizard belly showing through that window.  I'm not a leather working expert so I'm not sure if there's proper terminology...just a dude with mostly homemade tools working by hand  ;D

The blade is belt finished and has a definate scratch pattern that doesn't show in the pics.  One day I'll get the shoulder fixed so I can do up every knife in the satin finish they deserve.

Hope you enjoy.

ETA: spine is 3/16 inch thick spine, full flat grind.  Has a nice solid hefty feel to it.

osage outlaw:
Beautiful work.

Hawkdancer:
Very nice!   Good leather work!  Seems like the leather is a bit easier then the forging, though!

Thanks, guys.   I need to make one like it for myself,  my personal knives are more utilitarian.
