Some people have the same reaction to your opinions on short bow design and performance.
Not everyone builds a bow for top performance. They could be just trying to get one to stay in 1 piece. Gluing artificial sinew or fiberglass tape on a bow in that situation might help. It will probably make a slow, ugly bow but it might hold it together.

There are quite a few very good Bowyers using fiberglass to back their bows, but they are not claiming to make primitive self bows! Using artificial sinew might pose some real problems getting it to stick to the glue >:D!

I like Osage’s response.. im still new to this,and have done a couple sinew backed bows, but artificial sinew and FG tape have to be stronger than flax or brown paper bags..just not maybe quite as primitive.
