1442:
thanks for the nice comments
That piece of gravel is citronele and small, like 1-3/4" long.
Tower, I think a Cumberland would be pretty easy for you with a solberger jig.
I know you knap very good and you could make a preform that would flute so good and easy with a solberger jig. You should try it.
Then come to Niblets bluff knap in at the end of October where a lot of fluting with solberger jigs take place and bring Sasquach with ya. ;)
Tower:
Maybe we can work that out
Russ:
how do you drive thinning flakes with a pressure flaker. I can never do it right!
Wally44:
That looks great r you gonna hunt mastodons with it now 😆

Tower, I hope it works out and y'all come on down here to the knap in.
Deerhunter, I point my flaker right in line with where I want the flake to go and apply a lot of pressure with my legs then pop the flake with a downward force. The platform needs to be below center and strong enough to support a lot of pressure before the flake is popped loose.
I will take some pics of platforms, flaker alignment, flake spacing and anything else that I can get a pic of that will help explain and answer your question. I just can't explainit.
Thanks Wally44. I already kilt a mastodon with it. Then I woke up and had to get ready to go to work ???
