Arrow Taperer

(1/1)

Jimb:
Hello everyone!
This is my first post.   I was looking to fix some broken tips the other day and I starting fooling around with a way to get a 5-degree taper.  I didn't want to wait to get one so I put this contraption together.  It took me about an hour and it works great!  This is just the sanding end of my very cheap wood lathe.

Russ:
Welcome to PA Jimb! im glad you joined! mind if I steal your idea? it looks great! ;D

Jimb:
Thanks for the welcome!   Feel free to use this idea.  I was very easy to do.

Woodely:
I bought a cheap taper tool from Cabelas seems to work good.

Pat B:
I use the disc on my belt sander with a simple jig for a 5deg and 11deg taper set up. 5deg for points, 11deg for nocks, although I don't use plastic nocks much anymore. Self nocks for me.
