Could you drag a dirty sock behind you as we y always to leave a scent trap. The idea would be to form a funnel that would encourage deer to walk toward your spot, by making a trail of human scent that deer would avoid and eventually find their way to you, where you didnt leave any scent. Think of it a bottle neck made by dragging a dirty sock around.

Russ:
what if they smell your sock and just bolt. It is a good idea but the deer might be too skittish. Its like leaving a scent of a wolf. if its all around around you, to your left and right, and it gets closer as you move forward pushing you to a certain spot... well i think you see what would happen.
