Imagine the shock of the elders when the young Hunter introduced a spear chucker and a lighter spear that went further, more accurately than a hand thrown spear! "Oh my! Horrors, it will never last!" Jean Auel's account in "Valley of the Horses" is much neater, and fun to read! I agree with shot placement, regardless of range or weapon!

I was out hunting last year with a compound-shooting buddy of mine. During a mid-day break we got to discussing the relative merits of our weapons. He said, "I wonder if primitive people had this same conversation: 'Zog could use spear, but Zog a traditionalist at heart. Zog just want to use a rock.' "
