Last year's moose hunt in Canada

<< < (3/4) > >>

Chief RID:
I bought all in, all the way down. What a gullabull! What an aqua maroon!

Marc St Louis:
I have to add that this "story" elicited some memories.  My grandmother and her sons (my uncles) did this for many years, fly in to a Moose hot spot to hunt  :-M.  One Moose per trip on the way out was always the limit

Russ:
I remember reading your yellowstone bear one!!! man that one was a good one.  (=)

mullet:
Good one. I was pretty ready for it since I didn't see your luck changing a lot for moose with your record for turkeys. ;) ;D

Last year Mikey and I got a pilot to fly us into the Canadian wilderness where we managed to bag two big Bull Moose.

As we were loading the plane to return, the pilot said the plane could take only the us, our gear and one moose.

Of course, we objected strongly saying, "Last year we shot two, and the pilot let us take them both...and he had exactly the same airplane as yours."

Reluctantly the pilot, not wanting to be outdone by another bush pilot, gave in and everything was loaded.

However, even under full power, the little plane couldn't handle the load and went down, crashing in the wooded wilderness.

Somehow, surrounded by the moose, clothing and sleeping bags, Mikey and I survived the crash.

After climbing out of the wreckage, Mikey asked, "Any idea where we are?"

I replied, "I think we're pretty close to where we crashed last year.

Were you ever rescued or are you still "out there" ;D ;D
