wooden knife sheath- wip

(1/9) > >>

stuckinthemud:
Spent a couple of hours this afternoon hollowing out an apple branch for a new sheath to replace the nasty plastic one one on my 'shop knife.  I'll glue it up overnight and then carve it into something pretty over the next few days.  Not sure what style I am aiming for at the moment, maybe ainu makiri  as I like the belt toggle idea.  Anyone like to post some pictures/links to any wooden knife sheath carvings? Oh, yes, I did have a reversal issue early on, managed to spot it in time  :-[

Hawkdancer:
Looks like a neat project!  I may try one from cherry or crabapple, but not sure I have any ca in the freezer. But it will be back burner to getting moved.  And staying healthy!
