Chingachgoog's gunstock warclub from the Last Of The Mohicans movie

(1/2) > >>

medicinewheel:
This is the exact replica of the gunstock warclub Chingachgoog (Russel Means) carried  through the Last Of The Mohicans movie and did a lot of damage with it. According to internet research the blade is 2.75 inches at it's base. Starting from there I calculated the other measurements.
The gunstock is made from blue stained curly maple decorated with 13 bullen nails. The blade is forged from high quality carbon steel and shafted with Epoxy and birch tar. It is very sharp and saved with a rawhide sheath. The strap is thick buckskin decorated with a curl of human hair donated by a japanese Lady friend of mine.
Total length without applications is 36 inches.

That is very nice work.  How thick is it?  That has been on my to-do list for years.  I want to make one for my dad and one for my archery room.  He loves that movie.
