Ricardovanleeuwen:
Annyone used these as shafts? Their buds turn purple when ready.  One Dries they are fairly stiff and have a Nice taper, they dont rot fast as the ones from last year are still quite strong and we live in a rainy country

Pat B:
Is that the botanical or common name?  The plant is not familiar to me but the head looks like teasel to me.

Ricardovanleeuwen:
Its the first part of its latin name, but yes its teasel, wasnt sure wich one so i tought il put in latin name

Pat B:
I've never used the stem for arrows. I have used and seen other common weeds used like golden rod, horse wood, dog fennel and others. A sinew wrap at the nock and point ends will add a lot of strength.

Ricardovanleeuwen:
I finnished my first good bow late in the growing season so i was too late for Both but this year om going to sit right next to Them till they are ready  haha
