Finish over jute wrap

Hi guys, can I use a finishing oil over a jute wrap?

I haven't used jute handle wrap but on the hemp wraps I do I use Massey finish, 2 part epoxy thinned with acetone.

I’ve put Tru Oil over a jute wrap, and it worked fine.  (Until my bow got run over, that is.  It didn’t protect against that worth a darn.)

i cant speak to a oil finish but i have done the epoxy finish over a wrap before.
i just used 5min epoxy thinned with 70% isopropoyl alcohol.

Just use watered down pva over the wrap. Lasts for ever.

    Jute handle wrap finished with Titebond III till dry, Acrylic paint till dry, Some more TB III dry, Then rubbed in some sticky beeswax

A few years back I was putting jute on everything -- thought it looked more primitive. Generally TBll, but also Polyurethane, even just bare.
