Here's a few action shots. I will post a few profile shots later on.
The second picture you can see I had just released the string  The last if you look close shows the arrow paradox around the handle. The blue tape is a draw stop to prevent me from overdrawing the broadhead, the broadhead hits it at full draw.

Great story Kevin.  I don’t know how you remembered all that but that’s the way it went. Glad have witnessed you breaking Perry’s record. That was a tough one to break. The story hopefully sparked some interest in others on here and it will bring more folks to Bonneville where you never know what happens. Arvin

Thanks Arvin. Hopefully I never forget this. I agree I really hope more folks will come out and participate. Its fun when you have folks challenging you.  By the way buddy, I got an eye on that 239 record you hold.... and a solid year to make arrows   >:D

No, but you sure gave those strings a hard time!

Its insane what happens when a string breaks. Of course, on this shot, the arrow nock broke on release, so ALL the energy went into your limbs.

Kevin,
I did hear from Dan Perry, and here is a direct quote for you:
“Give my congratulations to Kevin Hawkins. Nice distance with a 50# self bow.”

Wow. I never expected that! Thank you so much for relaying that to me! That really put a cap on the entire event for me, and a great end on a day that went very well for me today as well.
