Ryan_Gill_HuntPrimitive:
i have gotten pass thorughs with #50 bow on 1inch thick shield. with a 2 blade broadhead. i'd make it a good quartering away shot with stone.

hawkbow:
that is cool, I was led to elieve that the hogs shoulder armor would stop an arrow.. now i am looking forward to the harvest.. thanks brother . Hawk

mullet:
Mike, just make sure your point is razor sharp. I have had better results with heavy, two bladed points than three bladed. The larger boar hogs can have shields over 2" thick, the sows don't have the shield. With a 70# bow I made a complete pass through with the arrow traveling another 15 yds with a wensel point that had been sharpened and polished. That was on a 125# sow.

hawkbow:
Thanks bro, I only shoot two blades myself, they definately penetrate better for me. Those hogs must be as tough as a bear from what i hear. Hawk

mullet:
My best friend killed a P&Y bear in Canada at 7yds and said the arrow never slowed down. I've seen big boar hogs run forever and a lot of times never recover them with a lung shot.
