Anyone got a tutorial on sinew bow strings?

sleek:
I'm interested in making one and have all the basic questions. How much sinew, how to do the loops. How thick for a 50 pound bow, do it dry or wet, etc...

Eric Krewson:
I haven't made a complete sinew string, just parts to see if I could. Think of it as Flemish string with a lot of short pieces that you need to twist into each bundle as you go along. The loops are the same as a Flemish. First you make several separate bundles then twist them together like you would a Flemish.

Looking back I may have made a sinew string for my first selfbow but I can't remember for sure, it has been way too many years.

TimBo:
I think there is a good description of the process in the PA magazine somewhere...sorry I don't what year offhand, but maybe I can dig it up.

Morgan:
I believe some time back I saw a video of Ryan Gill making one on YouTube.

Eric Krewson:
Clay comes through again;
